THE KHARTOUM CONNECTION
(Marquee Films 1 x 60' C4 1996)
CREDITS
First piece of investigative journalism to identify Osama Bin Laden as a sponsor of major acts of international terror - five years before the attack on the Twin Towers.

We investigated an earlier planned bombing of the World Trade Centre by Islamic extremists that was foiled by the FBI as well as the attempted assassination of Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak as he attended an OAU Summit in Addis Ababa.

We traced the terrorist cells responsible for both attacks back to Khartoum - where Bin Laden was living at the time - and proved that he had financed them with the backing of the Sudanese state. We also predicted that he would launch future terrorist attacks.
