CREDITS
When the King of Lesotho is killed in a car crash, his thirtysomething son, Prince Mohato, has to ascend the throne and assume political responsibilities he has had little time to prepare for. National festivities are marred only by his being late for his own coronation and keeping guests of honour, Prince Charles and Nelson Mandela waiting in the African summer heat.
King Letsie as he is now known also finds that he is going to have to settle down, find a wife and provide and heir to the throne. Having been educated at an English public school (Ampleforth) and being surrounded by bodyguards when he is not confined to his palace, this proves to be his biggest challenge.
But five years later he is finally married in front of a 50,000 strong crowd in the national soccer stadium. Prince Charles and Mandela are again on hand to witness the joyous celebrations.
