“Cleverly used a clash of fashion and religion” - The Telegraph

“Fascinating programme” - The Times

(BBC Vision 1 x 60' BBC2 2006)
CREDITS

An entertaining look at the clash of religious and secular values in Turkey through the prism of Istanbul’s vibrant fashion industry, as the country prepares to join the European Union.

On one side, a young Porsche driving, yacht-owning manufacturer of racy lingerie who is being forced to go upmarket to compete with increasingly cheap Chinese imports. On the other, the devout owner of an Islamic fashion house where, as more and more Turkish women take the veil, business is on the up.

Also featuring, Tugba Ozay, Turkey’s answer to Caprice, a bevy of Brazilian lingerie models and a nice line in Islamic swimwear.
